Feel Safe, Regulated and Back in Control
What Is Trauma-Informed Coaching?
Trauma-informed coaching is an approach that prioritises:
- Safety
- Choice
- Collaboration
- Empowerment
Rather than asking “What’s wrong with you?”, we explore:
“What has happened to you—and how is it affecting you now?”
This approach recognises that stress, anxiety, burnout, and emotional overwhelm are often rooted in nervous system responses—not personal failure.
How Trauma-Informed Coaching Can Help
Through trauma-informed coaching, you can begin to:
- Understand your thoughts, emotions, and reactions
- Recognise patterns and triggers
- Regulate your nervous system
- Reduce stress and anxiety
- Build healthier coping strategies
- Develop self-trust and confidence
- Feel more grounded, calm, and in control
This is not about “fixing” you.
It’s about supporting you to understand yourself and build a life that works for you.
My Approach: A Gentle, Structured Process
I work using a triphasic (three-phase) model, helping you move forward in a way that feels safe and manageable.
1. Stabilisation
We begin by building safety and stability.
This may include:
- Grounding techniques
- Nervous system regulation
- Emotional awareness
- Creating a sense of internal safety
This phase is essential—you cannot do deeper work without feeling safe first.
2. Processing
Once you feel more secure, we begin to explore:
- Patterns and behaviours
- Emotional responses
- Past experiences (only where helpful and appropriate)
This is always done:
- At your pace
- With your consent
- With full control remaining with you
We move gently—returning to stabilisation whenever needed.
3. Integration
This is where real, lasting change happens.
You begin to:
- Respond differently to stress and triggers
- Feel more empowered and confident
- Reconnect with joy and possibility
- Build a new way of relating to yourself
This phase is about moving forward—not staying stuck in the past.
Trauma, Stress & the Nervous System
Your body and mind are designed to protect you.
When you experience stress or overwhelm, your nervous system responds automatically.
This can lead to:
- Anxiety or constant alertness
- Emotional overwhelm
- Shutdown or numbness
- Difficulty concentrating
- Burnout or chronic fatigue
These responses are not weaknesses—they are protective patterns.
Through trauma-informed coaching, you’ll learn how to:
- Understand these responses
- Work with your nervous system
Restore balance and resilience.
Mind + Body Integration
This work is not just about talking.
Where helpful, I integrate:
- Breathwork (Pranayama)
- Gentle movement and yoga
- Nervous system regulation tools
These practices help you:
- Feel calmer more quickly
- Release stored tension
- Build resilience physically and emotionally
